Our Mission

Rosie's Rescue has a three-fold mission:

1.  Find forever homes for abandoned, homeless, or endangered dogs.

2.  Educate the public so that animals do not suffer abandonment, neglect, abuse or an unbalanced psychology.

3.  Network with the VC Animal Shelter, other rescues, veterinary professionals, trainers, foundations and any other organizations that focus on animal welfare.

Company Overview

Rosie's Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded to find forever homes for dogs, relinquished or abandoned by owners due the the current economic situation.

Currently the rescue also works with the Ventura County Animal Shelter to find foster homes and then forever homes for animals that would otherwise be homeless.

Our Story

In our short history, Rosie's Rescue has saved hundreds of dogs and found homes for all of them. We have also facilitated rehoming or matching adopters with dogs in the county shelter.

We have provided resource information and counseled many people so that they could keep their dogs.

We have made progress in educating the public about choosing the right dog, proper medical care and training, licensing, spay/neuter and dog psychology. A Healing with Animals class was taught at the Prototypes Women and Children's Shelter in Oxnard.

Currently we speak at local schools about proper dog care, vaccinations, animal cruelty and spay/neuter programs.

Rosie's Rescue was instrumental in saving three bait dogs from an illegal breeder. We have contributed to the closing of an illegal breeder in Port Hueneme. We have pulled many dogs from the county shelter as well as accepting relinquished dogs and taken in strays. Luckily with help of foster, interns and other volunteers, we have been able to rehabilitate fearful or abused dogs.
